ENSMINGER SUPERB

Jim Ensminger captured the Ebonite Senior Tour tournament in Longview. Jim led the qualifying by almost 100 pins, then coasted for five matches when rookie Jerry Swank, in his first tournament  edged into the lead. Ensminger had a ten bagger the seventh game to return to the leader position. Swank needed to win the final match by 48 pins for his first win, but fell short.  Swank was second, Paul McCordic was third in his first try, Rick Talley fourth, and Robert Gibbs fifth.
It was a big boy shot! There were more spares missed
than maybe in any three or four tournaments. Everybody was missing them. Strikes were no bargain, the carry was really tough and every lane was different. The carry down came quick and

balls that were striking started washing out.
Please note that the Champions tournament has two divisions, Senior and Super Senior where the format is all match play. The Non-Champions tournament has the regular three four game blocks. If you have never won a SASBA tournament you can play in this event. This is the best tournament this year for you!!!!!

Notes:

Claude Thomas rolled 115 to win the dog of the week award for low game of the tournament. Gordon Stuntz left the ringing lily. Jamie Brooks, Leo Markwardt, and Ronnie Diamond all had a 200 game. There were too many RB's to count. John Denton picked the eight pin from behind the two pin and exclaimed "I didn't see the one in front". Super Star Dave Soutar was using a black and white Cow Ball to miss his ten pins. He brought a stuffed cow that looked like his ball in Sunday and it jinxed him all day. I am sure that that cow will be jettisoned from his vehicle in to some river. Ronnie Diamond missed more spares than anybody.  Has anybody seen TJ?
