Text Box: On the Champs side, Rick Talley led Saturday’s qualifying and stayed close to Gary Dickinson Sunday and took the lead for a few games. Then Gary bounced back with a big game to hold the lead entering the final position round match. Gary struggled with the right lane and managed a 223, but Rick ran off a string of strikes...shooting 267 and winning his 10th SASBA title. Gary was second, Charlie Hufford got 3rd, Jack Wallisch was 4th, and Fred Barnes rounded out the top 5. On the Non-Champs side, Horace Childress led the qualifying, but Al Denton

All four struggled to carry early in their matches, while 6th place Dewayne Thompson started with the front 7 and it looked as if he might jump all the way to the top if he could take it off the sheet. Dewayne left a 7 pin while Al was opening in the 7th, clearing the way for either Leon or Horace (who had started striking) to win if either could strike out. Both of them

Horace finished 2nd, DeWayne leapfrogged to 3rd, Leon got 4th, and Bernie finished 5th. Congrats to all. It was one of the most exciting conclusions I can remember.
