Text Box: OUT ON THE TWIG Text Box: Fluffy and Joe SS-S Champs Text Box: Jim Paine and Joe Tidwell needed a minus one the last game to win the Super Senior-Senior Doubles Tournament at Diamond Lanes in Odessa. This was the largest space between the first and second place teams ever. Jerry Hill and Bryce Ellison were second, Leon Aragon and Mark Estes; third, John Hawkins and Jim King; fourth and Charles Avant and Ron Leverich; fifth. The lanes had just been resurfaced two weeks prior to the tournament and new pins were bowled at. We had a graph taken of the oiling pattern. There was a ton of oil in the middle and not much outside. When you rolled the ball there was tons of hook. Any shot set short or pulled went high. The corners were tough to knock down too. Great shots were required to hit the pocket. We figure that the newness of the finish caused all of the hook. When finish is new it is rough with hills and valley that causes more traction. The staff worked very hard to make everything the best. We did not want it to be as tough as it was!!!!!!!!!! Our next event is in Tulsa at AMF Sheridan Lanes, see ya there!!!!! The big question!!!!! Text Box: Senior All Star Bowling Association Text Box: Gene Rivers and Mike Iskra rolled a 119 baker game in the finals to get the double dog of the week award for low game of the tournament, first time ever in the finals. Lily’s were left by Mark Estes (a ringing one!), David Addington (he didn’t like it), and Gray Woodard. Stan’s a great bowler (most of the time) and we still love him. Dudley Seals made his first finals. Rivers and Iskra won a match. Where have all of the stooges gone????
