On a very demanding lane, he peppered the pocket striking almost at will. Fred Barnes started the finals slow and rolled a 813 for three games in the finals, finishing second. Barnes, a man of few words said, I started the finals slow, then I found it and when I found it, I didn’t lose it. Butch Calvert was third, Gray Dickinson fourth, and Jimmy Young was fifth. It took good shots to hit the pocket and great shots to strike. If we bowled on this all of the time, we would all become good shot makers. Remember that in two weeks we have our Member-Guest tournament, the entry fee is $320. We need your entry fee to reserve your spot, last year we had a full field. This week we will travel to Conroe, it will be a rehab for those that went to Port Arthur, see ya there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Syd had to listen to it all of the way back home. Fluffy got his knee fixed and is doing good. Dennis Francis rolled 128 in the finals after a great 279. Gordon Stuntz wears a wrist brace to strike, when he does not strike he takes it off. That thing went on, off, on, off, the whole tournament. Wonder how many he wears out every year? Bill Smith left two ringing fives in one game. Dave Dupont bowled great the first block. He must have hurt his neck. After every shot the next two blocks, he was turning his head from left to right ,to left, to right, and etc. Zap beat Marshall Medlin again, wonder when Marshall is going to get it?
