Fabulous and Fhil Win

Fabulous Fred Barnes and Phil Bailey captured the Ebonite Senior Tour Senior-Super Senior Doubles Tournament at Diamond Lanes in Odessa.  The champs won the tournament by 106 pins over second place Dave Dupont and Mickey Humphrey, John Hawkins and Charlie Lacy were third, Dick Smith and Joe Binder fourth, and David Addington and Mark Estes fifth.
I want to thank the 73 SASBA members that bowled in our bowling center in Odessa. When Ken Urban and I bought the center three years ago, it had gone through years of neglect. We have it looking good now with some more things to do. Your visit was a shot in the arm for our employees and customers. The adult pro am had over 80 bowlers and the youth

pro am had over 90 bowlers. We signed up a lot of them for league this fall. You SASBA bowlers have made a big hit in Odessa.
The Super senior tournament in San Antonio at Oak Hills, the first weekend in September, is a SS-Guest event. The entry fee is $320 per team and the entry fee will reserve your spot. We are half full now and have room for 48 teams, get your entry in soon.

Notes: 

Fred Smith and Bert Morrison tied for the dog of the week award with 117 low game of the tournament. Charlie Farmer rolled 299. Congrats to Rick Talley, he was inducted to the Oklahoma Bowling Hall of Fame. We found the worst Margaritas in the world in Odessa. Even Rudy Garcia didn't like them. BD got in and out of the dog house in one weekend. David liked it. Ronnie Diamond rolled 792 in league, too bad he has retired from SASBA. Guy Morton and Jerry O'Neal won the second chance tournament over 16 other teams for $900. Bryce Ellison and Lee Freeman were second, Maury Newman and John Rowoldt were third, and Charles Marchant and Lionel Jordan were fourth. There were six places paid. The red Tahoe set a land speed record going east on IH10 Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
