T.J. Johnson won his second Ebonite Senior Tour
tournament at Cowtown Bowling Palace in Fort Worth. Johnson qualified fourth, 46 pins
behind qualifying leader, Phil Ballard, then won seven of eight matches averaging 241 to
win by more than 200 pins. David Goodwin made his best showing, finishing second. Gary
Dickinson was third, Maury Newman fourth, and Phil Ballard claimed the 5th spot. The lane
condition resulted in a feast or famine outcome for each bowler. If you had the
right roll on the ball, you did good. If you didn't, it was impossible.
Notes: David Addington made the finals. Bob Neeley won the dog of the week award
with 119 low game of the tournament, and he came back Sunday. Three hundreds were rolled
buy Jerry Clark and David Addington, and David liked it. Tip Bullock locked
his car with it running, with the keys in it. He had to call his wife to come open
it for him. Wonder if it ran out of gas before she got there? Wonder how many
honey doos he will have to perform for that trick? David really liked that!!!! Some
of us had so much trouble that our high game was no where near TJ's average.
It is time to line your partners up for the Member-Guest tournament the first week end in
January. Last Year there |

Our annual team tournament is next. We will start bowling at 11:30 AM Saturday.
Right after bowling we will have our annual meeting. The 2002 awards will be given,
Charles Avant, Grady Creasie, and Carroll McGuire will be installed into the SASBA hall of
fame, and a few business items will be discussed. It will not be a long program so
please plan to attend.
See ya there.
