Fred Barnes was zipping his ball up and at
em to capture the Ebonite Senior Tour's first Super-Senior tournament of
the year in Killeen. Fred had to hold off a gang of lefties for the win. He bowled the
tournament leader, Walt Banks the position round match. The match winner was going to be
the champ if no one passed the both. Banks drilled the pocket but was unable to carry the
seven pin four times. Walt still could have won with thirty in the tenth. A solid 8
pin and another seven let Skee Foremsky pass him by one stick. Froemsky could have won, he
started the final match with a four bagger, then oops a 4-6 split, then off the sheet with
eight on the last ball, for a fine 266. A 9 spare in the fifth, Skee would have won.
Norm Clark finished fourth, the Dude, John Denton edged into fifth , and Dewey Crow was
sixth, CAW, CAW, CAW.
Notes: Bill Sinsabaugh rolled a 123 game so he could get the dog of the week,
and get his name in the mailer. Louis Roper made his first finals. Ted Schneider was
striking and a grinning, finishing ninth. Ronnie Diamond missed three single pins the last
game to miss the finals, then sped toward Dallas. Cecil Engledow appeared after a long
absence and got a check, Jay Adams did too. Leo Erne got a check also.
