Charlie Avant has returned with a wire to wire win
in the Track Senior Tour event at Cowtown Lanes in Fort Worth. Avant has been AWOL for two
and a half years. His last win was in Odessa in March of 1999. This win is his eighth!!!
For the second tournament in a row at Cowtown, Fred Barnes has come in second. Jim
Ensminger made a late run at Avant needing to win the last match by 48 pins to beat
Charlie, but nice try, no cigar, for a third place finish.
Notes: Ron Garr and Louis Roper tied for the dog of the week award with 128 for low game
of the tournament. Ron Mills, Orville Schinke, and Steve Thompson cashed in their first
tournament. Claude Thomas gave his foursome a bowling lesson and Bill SNAFU Sinsabaugh
needed a lesson. Still does.
SPECIAL NOTE: WE ARE STARTING OUR 13TH SEASON. OUR BOWLING CENTERS |
